This full‑time English‑taught Master of Food Science and Engineering programme is offered by the College of Food Science and Technology at Nanjing Agricultural University. The programme aims to cultivate high‑level international food science talents who master solid food science theoretical knowledge, possess food experiment operation, product development and safety‑evaluation capabilities, independent scientific‑research innovation awareness and good cross‑cultural academic exchange competence. The curriculum consists of advanced postgraduate core food courses, discipline‑oriented elective modules, cutting‑edge food‑industry academic seminars, multi‑group laboratory rotation training, supervisor‑led research project participation and master thesis research work. Representative core courses include Advanced Food Processing Technology, Food Nutrition and Functional Food, Food Safety and Detection Technology, Agricultural Product Deep Processing, Food Quality Control, Food Science Research Methodology, Academic Writing and Thesis Standardisation, and serial thematic
seminars tracking global food‑science research frontiers. During the 3‑year full‑time study period, students need to complete all compulsory and elective credit requirements, attend domestic and international food‑science academic conferences and technical workshops, finish multi‑group food‑science laboratory rotation practice, take part in faculty‑managed food‑related research projects and accumulate sufficient experimental practical experience. Every admitted student will receive one‑on‑one academic supervision from faculty member. Under supervisor guidance, students will finish comprehensive literature review, research scheme design, food‑product development and experiment operation, sample testing and data statistics and analysis, research result sorting and academic paper drafting, and finally complete original master graduation thesis and pass thesis defence. Applicants must submit authenticated bachelor degree certificate and full official academic transcript issued by accredited higher education institutions. Applicants with food
science, biological science, applied chemistry and related engineering backgrounds receive priority consideration. Non‑native English‑speaking applicants need valid English proficiency certificates such as IELTS or TOEFL. Applicants who have finished full‑degree programmes fully taught in English can apply for language score exemption by submitting official supporting documents for university internal review. Applicant age generally should not exceed 35 years old, and physical‑mental health condition must satisfy medical examination criteria for Chinese student visa. After fulfilling all curriculum assessment requirements and successfully passing thesis defence, graduates are awarded official master degree diploma issued by Nanjing Agricultural University. Graduates can take research‑and‑development positions in food research institutes, food manufacturing enterprises, food‑safety supervision institutions, food‑testing corporations, or pursue further PhD‑level academic study worldwide
