The programme aims to cultivate international‑oriented interdisciplinary high‑level talents, who master systematic area‑studies theoretical‑framework, possess regional‑phenomenon‑analysis‑capacity, cross‑cultural‑comparative‑research‑skill, independent‑academic‑thinking and cross‑border‑communication‑competence. Curriculum framework includes advanced postgraduate core courses, regional‑research‑elective‑modules, comparative‑area‑studies‑academic‑seminars, document‑analysis‑training, supervisor‑guided‑research‑projects and master‑degree‑thesis‑research. Core courses contain Advanced Theory of Area Studies, Comparative Regional Social‑Cultural Research, International Cultural Exchange Research, Regional Policy Analysis, Humanities‑Social‑Science‑Research‑Methodology, Academic‑Paper‑Writing and Thesis‑Standardisation, plus thematic seminars focusing on global regional‑research hot‑spot topics. Within 2‑3‑year full‑time study period, students are required to finish all compulsory‑and‑elective‑course‑credit‑requirements, take part in college‑organised academic‑forums, participate in faculty‑led regional‑research‑projects, and accumulate document‑sorting‑and‑comparative‑analysis practical‑experience. Every admitted master‑student will receive one‑on‑one academic‑guidance from a faculty supervisor. Under supervisor’s direction, students will accomplish comprehensive‑literature‑collection‑and‑review, research‑subject‑demonstration, comparative‑case‑analysis, data‑and‑document‑sorting, research‑result‑summary‑and‑academic‑article‑drafting, and complete qualified original master‑graduation‑thesis. Applicants must provide authenticated bachelor‑degree‑certificate and complete official academic‑transcript issued by accredited higher‑education‑institutions. Applicants holding international‑relations, sociology, history, cultural‑studies and other related humanities‑social‑science‑backgrounds get priority for admission assessment. Non‑native‑English‑speaking applicants shall provide valid English‑proficiency‑documents: IELTS overall band 
6.5 or TOEFL iBT ≥90. Applicants with prior full‑degree programmes fully delivered in English may apply for language‑score‑exemption with official supporting‑documents subject to university‑internal‑review. Applicant age generally shall not exceed 35‑years‑old; physical‑mental‑health condition must satisfy medical‑examination‑standards for Chinese‑student‑visa‑application. After completing all curriculum‑assessment‑criteria and successfully passing master‑thesis‑defence, graduates obtain official master‑degree‑diploma issued by Shenzhen University. Graduates can work within international‑research‑institutes, cross‑cultural‑exchange‑organisations, international‑affairs‑related‑institutions, cultural‑consulting‑agencies, or pursue further doctoral‑level‑academic‑study all over the world.
