The curriculum system consists of advanced postgraduate core economics‑management courses, discipline‑specific elective modules, frontier agricultural‑economy academic seminars, rural‑area field‑survey practice, supervisor‑led research project participation and master thesis research work. Representative core courses cover Advanced Agricultural Economics, Rural Development Research, International Agricultural Trade, Agricultural Policy Analysis, Agribusiness Management, Economics Research Methodology, Academic Writing and Thesis Standardisation, together with serial thematic seminars focusing
on global rural‑development hot‑spot research topics. During the 3‑year full‑time study period, students need to complete all compulsory and elective credit requirements, participate in university‑level agricultural‑economy academic conferences and workshops, finish rural‑area field investigation and data‑collection practice, take part in faculty‑managed agricultural‑economy research projects and accumulate sufficient social‑survey practical experience. Each admitted student receives one‑on‑one academic supervision from faculty supervisors. Under supervisor guidance, students will complete comprehensive literature retrieval and review, research scheme design, field‑side social survey, economic data sorting and econometric analysis, research result summarisation and academic paper drafting, and finally complete original master graduation thesis and pass thesis defence. Applicants must submit authenticated bachelor degree certificate and complete official academic transcript issued by accredited higher education institutions.
Applicants with agricultural economics, economics, international trade and other related backgrounds will be given priority in admission assessment. Non‑native English‑speaking applicants shall provide valid English proficiency certificates such as IELTS or TOEFL. Applicants who have completed full‑degree programmes fully delivered in English can apply for language score exemption by submitting official supporting documents for university internal review. Applicant age generally should not exceed 35 years old, and physical‑mental health condition must satisfy medical examination criteria for Chinese student visa application. After completing all curriculum assessment requirements and successfully passing thesis defence, graduates will be awarded official master degree diploma issued by Nanjing Agricultural University. Graduates can engage in agricultural policy research, agricultural industry management work in agricultural research institutions, international agricultural organisations, government‑related departments, agricultural
enterprises, or pursue further PhD‑level academic study worldwide.
