This full‑time English‑taught International Master of Chinese Law program is delivered by the China‑EU School of Law (CESL) at China University of Political Science and Law, the pre‑eminent legal education institution widely known as “the cradle of Chinese legal education”. The program is specially designed for international students who hold law‑related bachelor qualifications and intend to systematically study Chinese legal system under an all‑English teaching environment. The curriculum covers core sectors of Chinese law, including Chinese civil and commercial law, constitutional and administrative law, criminal law, procedural law, foreign‑related economic law, together with comparative law theories. Students will receive systematic training on Chinese legal framework, legislative background, judicial practice and legal research methodology. Apart from classroom lectures, the program arranges practical activities such as court observation, law firm visits, legal case seminars and internship referral opportunities in Beijing‑based legal institutions. The teaching team consists of senior CUPL professors with international academic background and distinguished visiting scholars from European partner universities. Students are required to complete no less than 26 academic credits and submit a 20000‑word English‑language master thesis and pass thesis defense to obtain the LL.M degree conferred by China University of Political Science and Law. Applicants shall be non‑Chinese citizens holding valid passports and hold a recognized bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent legal qualification. Two academic recommendation letters from professors or associate‑professors, curriculum vitae and English‑written study plan are required for application. Graduates are well‑qualified for professional positions in international law firms, corporate legal departments of multinational enterprises, international arbitration institutions, governmental foreign‑affairs legal agencies and legal research institutes across the world.
