Non‑refundable application fee €65 (CNY 500) shall be paid upon application submission. Tuition fee is for 2026 intake and subject to official university revision. Qualified applicants can apply for Chinese Government Scholarship and Hohai University institutional scholarships to cover partial or full tuition costs. Accommodation, mandatory medical insurance, residence permit fees, textbooks, sampling‑survey expenses, laboratory consumables and all personal living expenses are excluded from tuition fees. This full‑time English‑taught Master of Environmental Science and Engineering programme is delivered by the College of Environment at Hohai University. Closely combined with the university’s dominant water‑discipline resources, this research‑oriented postgraduate programme focuses on water environment pollution treatment, water ecological restoration and global environmental governance. Major research directions include water pollution control technology, aquatic ecological restoration, water‑environment monitoring and assessment, solid‑waste disposal, environmental impact evaluation and water‑basin comprehensive environmental management. The programme aims to cultivate high‑level international environmental research talents who master solid environmental theoretical knowledge, possess environmental sampling testing, pollution‑treatment experiment operation and environmental‑plan analysis capabilities, independent scientific‑research innovation awareness and qualified cross‑cultural 
academic exchange competence. The curriculum includes advanced postgraduate core environmental courses, discipline‑specific elective modules, cutting‑edge global‑environment academic seminars, multi‑group laboratory rotation training, supervisor‑led research project participation and master thesis research work. Representative core courses cover Advanced Water Pollution Control, Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration, Environmental Monitoring and Risk Assessment, Basin‑scale Environmental Management, Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Research Methodology, Academic Writing and Thesis Standardisation, together with serial thematic seminars tracking international water‑environment research frontiers. Throughout the three‑year full‑time study period, students shall complete all compulsory and elective credit requirements, attend domestic and international environmental academic conferences and technical workshops, finish multi‑group environmental laboratory practice and water‑site 
field sampling investigation, participate in faculty‑managed environmental‑research projects and accumulate sufficient experimental and field‑survey practical experience. Each admitted student gets one‑on‑one academic supervision from faculty supervisors. Under supervisor guidance, students complete comprehensive literature review, research scheme design, environmental‑treatment experiment operation, field sample collection and instrumental testing, data statistics and analysis, research result sorting and academic paper drafting, and finally finish original master graduation thesis and pass thesis defence. Applicants must provide authenticated bachelor degree certificate and complete official academic transcript issued by accredited higher‑education institutions. Applicants holding environmental‑related STEM backgrounds receive priority consideration. Non‑native English‑speaking applicants need valid English proficiency certificates such as IELTS or TOEFL. Applicants who have finished full‑degree programmes fully 
taught in English can apply for language score exemption by submitting official supporting documents for university internal review. Applicant age generally should not exceed 35 years old, and physical‑mental health condition must satisfy medical examination criteria for Chinese student visa. After fulfilling all curriculum assessment requirements and successfully passing thesis defence, graduates receive official master degree diploma issued by Hohai University. Graduates can take research‑and‑development posts in environmental research institutes, environmental protection enterprises, ecological‑governance institutions, environmental‑testing organisations, or pursue further PhD‑level academic study worldwide.
