The eligibility criteria is as follows:
- International students (study permit holders) admitted to a full-time undergraduate degree.
- Final admission average of:
- 85%+ for Scholarship of Distinction
- 80–84.9% for Merit Award
- 75–79.9% for Entrance Award
Transfer students with 24+ credits and 75%+ may qualify for the Transfer Award.

- Submit admission application to York and secure an offer.
- Scholarships are awarded automatically based on your final admission average—no separate form required.
For renewal (Distinction & Merit), maintain minimum GPA and credit load.

The scholarship includes coverage for:
Automatic entrance scholarships based on final admission average (no application required).
- Scholarship of Distinction:
- Year 1: CAD 15,000
- Years 2–4: CAD 7,500/year
- Total max: CAD 37,500
- Merit Award:
- Year 1: CAD 10,000
- Years 2–4: CAD 5,000/year
- Total max: CAD 25,000
- Entrance Award: One-time CAD 5,000 (Year 1 only)
Transfer Award: One-time CAD 2,500 for students with 24+ transfer credits.
