Electronic Science and Technology

Electronic Science and Technology is a full‑time English‑taught academic master programme for international students at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, hosted by School of Electronic Science and Engineering. This discipline is among the national key disciplines of UESTC. The programme requires no less than 26 total credits, including course credits and dissertation research work. Except designated Chinese language courses, all core lectures, seminars and project guidance are delivered in English. International students will receive one‑on‑one academic supervision from faculty members. Students can select 1‑2 interdisciplinary core courses as degree courses under supervisor guidance. Students may also take Chinese‑taught courses for local postgraduates and obtain corresponding credits with qualified Chinese language proficiency. Students are required to finish all credit requirements, complete independent master dissertation research and pass thesis defence to obtain official master degree issued by UESTC. The maximum permitted study duration for this programme is 4 years for eligible extension application. Graduates can engage in electronic device research, chip design, microelectronic technology development and related technical posts in high‑tech enterprises, research institutes and industrial‑oriented institutions. Qualified overseas applicants are eligible to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship and university‑administered international student scholarships for financial support.

English and American Studies BA

Short descriptionThe program is offered by the School of English and American Studies. The program can be completed either as a major or a minor program, the latter is only available for students who study in other major programs at ELTE. Students taking the program as a major opt for either the English or the American track at the end of the first term. The three-year long program does not provide teaching qualifications.Strength of programStudents in the English studies track within the English and American Studies BA program are offered a chance to acquaint themselves with the foundations of literary and linguistic analysis, the British and American political culture, language development, academic argumentation and essay writing, as well as typography in the first phase of their studies. This is followed by a series of seminars and lectures aimed at developing students’ competence in using English as a language of global communication, academic writing, and everyday oral argumentation in a scholarly and business environment. Students will thus attain the foundations of academic research, evaluation and critical thinking in English literature, British and American socio-political history, and develop an understanding of the linguistic levels of description and analysis of English (phonology, syntax and the foundations of language history).Students opting for the American Studies track within the English and American Studies BA program are given the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the background and idiosyncratic features of American history, culture, literature, and the American variety of English. By focusing on these areas of research, the aim of the American Studies track is to impart the students with the foundations of critical thinking and academic research in order to prepare them for future studies or for successful endeavours when entering the job market. 

English Doctoral Program in Environmental Science, Engineering and Management

This doctoral program focuses on cutting-edge research in environmental science, environmental engineering, carbon neutrality technology and global environmental governance. It cultivates high-level international research talents with independent scientific research capabilities. Students conduct in-depth academic research under the guidance of supervisor, publish high-level academic papers, and participate in international environmental science research projects. The program provides rich academic exchange resources, supporting students to carry out international cooperative research and academic conferences. Graduates engage in scientific research and teaching in global universities, environmental research institutions and international environmental organizations.
