This full‑time English‑taught Master of Mechanical Engineering is delivered by the School of Mechanical Engineering at Zhejiang University, one of China’s top‑tier comprehensive research‑oriented universities located in Hangzhou. This research‑dominated postgraduate programme keeps close connection with advanced manufacturing industry development in
Yangtze River Delta region. Major research directions cover advanced mechanical design, intelligent manufacturing and robotics, precision machining, new energy equipment, mechatronic control system, material forming technology and industrial intelligent equipment research. This programme aims to cultivate high‑level international mechanical engineering research talents who master systematic mechanical theoretical foundation, hands‑on laboratory and engineering practice capability, independent scientific research innovation ability and cross‑cultural academic exchange competence. The curriculum consists of advanced postgraduate core courses, discipline‑oriented elective modules, cutting‑edge academic seminars, laboratory rotation training, supervisor‑led research project participation and master thesis research work. Representative core courses include Advanced Mechanical Design Theory, Intelligent Manufacturing and Robot Technology, Precision Machining Technology, Mechatronic System
Control, Advanced Engineering Materials, Scientific Research Methodology for Engineering, Academic Writing and Thesis Standardisation, and serial thematic seminars tracking global mechanical‑engineering hot‑spot research topics. Within 3‑year full‑time study period, students need to complete all compulsory and elective credit requirements, attend school‑level academic conferences and workshops, finish multi‑group laboratory rotation practice, take part in faculty‑managed engineering research projects and accumulate sufficient practical experimental experience. Every admitted student will receive one‑on‑one academic supervision from faculty member. Under supervisor guidance, students will finish comprehensive literature review, research scheme design, simulation calculation and physical experiment test, experimental data statistics and analysis, research result sorting and academic paper drafting, and finally complete original master graduation thesis and pass thesis defence. Applicants must submit authenticated
bachelor degree certificate and full official academic transcript issued by accredited higher education institutions. Applicants with mechanical‑engineering and related engineering backgrounds receive priority consideration. Non‑native English‑speaking applicants need valid English proficiency certificates: IELTS overall 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 90 and above. Applicants who have finished full‑degree programmes fully taught in English can apply for language score exemption by submitting official supporting documents for university internal review.
