Non‑refundable application fee €65 (CNY 500) shall be paid upon application submission. Tuition fee is for 2026 intake and subject to official university revision. Qualified applicants can apply for Chinese Government Scholarship and Hohai University institutional scholarships to cover partial or full tuition costs. Accommodation, mandatory medical insurance, residence permit fees, textbooks, field‑investigation expenses, laboratory consumables and all personal living expenses are excluded from tuition fees. Advanced Hydraulic Engineering, Hydropower System Analysis, River Basin Water Resources Regulation, Flood Risk Management, Ecological Restoration of Water Conservancy Projects, Hydraulic Engineering Research Methodology, Academic Writing and Thesis Standardisation, alongside serial thematic seminars covering worldwide water‑resource crisis and hydraulic‑engineering hot‑spot topics. During the three‑year full‑time study cycle, students are required to finish all compulsory and elective credit requirements, join university‑level water‑science academic conferences and technical workshops, complete field visits to large‑scale water‑conservancy projects and laboratory simulation practice, take part in faculty‑managed hydraulic‑research projects and accumulate abundant engineering‑oriented practical experience. Every admitted student receives one‑on‑one academic guidance from university supervisors. Under supervisor instruction, students carry out comprehensive literature retrieval and review, research scheme 
formulation, numerical simulation or physical model experiment arrangement, field data collection and experimental testing, data sorting, statistics and comparative analysis, research outcome summarisation and academic manuscript drafting, and finally complete original master thesis and pass thesis defence. Applicants need to submit authenticated bachelor degree certificate and full official academic transcript issued by accredited higher‑education institutions. Candidates with hydraulic engineering, civil engineering and other water‑relevant STEM backgrounds will obtain priority during admission evaluation. Non‑native English‑speaking applicants shall provide valid English proficiency certificates such as IELTS or TOEFL. Applicants who have completed full‑degree programmes fully delivered in English may apply for language score exemption by submitting official supporting documents for internal university review. Applicant age generally should not exceed 35 years old, and physical‑mental health condition must satisfy 
medical examination criteria for Chinese student visa application. After finishing all curriculum assessment requirements and successfully passing thesis defence, graduates will obtain official master degree diploma issued by Hohai University. Graduates can engage in hydraulic‑engineering scientific research, water‑project design, river‑basin management work in water‑science research institutes, water‑conservancy design institutions, international water‑related organisations, engineering enterprises, or pursue further PhD‑level academic study around the globe.
