Within the three‑year full‑time study period, students need to complete required course credits, attend department‑hosted academic forums, join multiple research‑group rotations, participate in faculty‑led scientific‑research projects, accumulate hands‑on programming, algorithm‑experiment and system‑development practical experience. Each admitted student will receive one‑to‑one academic guidance from a faculty supervisor with rich high‑level computer‑science‑project research experience. Under supervisor’s direction, students will carry out comprehensive literature investigation, research‑scheme design, algorithm‑implementation, experimental‑verification, data‑analysis, academic‑paper drafting and independent master‑dissertation‑
research work. Applicants must submit authenticated bachelor‑degree diploma and full official academic transcript issued by recognised higher‑education institutions. Applicants with computer‑science, software‑engineering, electronic‑information, mathematics or other STEM‑related academic background are highly preferred. Non‑native‑English applicants shall provide valid English‑proficiency results: IELTS overall band 6.5 (no sub‑score lower than 6.0), TOEFL iBT ≥90. Applicants whose prior full‑degree is fully English‑taught can apply for language‑score exemption by submitting official supporting documents for university review. Applicant age should not exceed 35 at application moment, physical‑mental health status must meet medical‑check‑standard for Chinese student visa. After completing all course‑credit requirements and passing master‑thesis defence, students will obtain official master‑degree certificate awarded by Southern University of Science and Technology. Graduates can engage in scientific‑research work within global 
computer‑science research institutes, high‑tech internet‑and‑AI enterprises, cross‑border digital‑technology‑research‑departments, or continue doctoral‑degree study in worldwide higher‑education institutions.
