This full‑time English‑taught Master of China Studies programme is administered by the International Education College at Ocean University of China. Rooted in the university’s comprehensive academic resources in humanities and social sciences, this postgraduate programme focuses on multi‑dimensional research on China’s society, economy, culture and international relations. The programme pays close attention to China’s contemporary development practice and its interactions with the global community, helping international students build systematic knowledge framework for understanding modern China. Major research directions include Chinese society 
and culture, China’s economic transformation, China’s foreign relations and regional comparative studies. The programme aims to cultivate high‑level international interdisciplinary talents who possess solid theoretical foundation of China studies, cross‑cultural analytical thinking, independent academic research capacity and excellent cross‑cultural communication competence. The curriculum includes core postgraduate courses covering Chinese culture and society, Chinese economic development, China’s diplomacy and global governance, together with discipline‑oriented elective modules, academic seminars, field investigation activities across Chinese cities, supervisor‑guided research training and independent master thesis writing. During the two‑year full‑time study cycle, students are required to complete stipulated credit requirements, participate in regular academic workshops and thematic seminars hosted by the college, take part in social and cultural field‑visit practice, and engage in research work under 
supervisor guidance. Every enrolled student receives one‑on‑one academic supervision from faculty supervisors. Under supervisor’s instruction, students carry out literature collection and review, research topic demonstration, field‑work or document‑based data collection, data sorting and analysis, thesis drafting and revision, and finally submit original master thesis and pass thesis defence. Applicants shall provide authenticated bachelor degree certificate and complete official academic transcript issued by accredited higher‑education institutions. Applicants with humanities or social‑science academic backgrounds will receive priority during admission assessment. Non‑native English‑speaking applicants need valid English‑language proficiency certificates such as IELTS or TOEFL. Applicants who have completed full‑degree programmes fully delivered in English may apply for English‑score exemption by submitting relevant official supporting documents for university internal review. Applicant age generally should not exceed 35 years old, and 
physical‑mental health condition shall satisfy medical‑examination standards for Chinese student‑visa application. After finishing all curriculum requirements and successfully passing thesis defence, graduates will obtain official master degree diploma awarded by Ocean University of China. Graduates can engage in China‑related research work, international cultural exchange, cross‑border business consultation and international‑organisation‑related positions, or pursue further PhD‑level academic study worldwide.
