During the three‑year full‑time study cycle,
students are required to complete all compulsory and elective course credit requirements, participate in department‑level academic forums, finish multi‑group laboratory rotation sessions, take part in research‑group projects supervised by faculty members, and accumulate hands‑on laboratory‑practice experience. Every enrolled master student will be assigned one principal supervisor with abundant high‑level research project experience in biomedical‑engineering fields. Under supervisor guidance, students will conduct extensive international‑literature review, research‑scheme formulation, hardware‑and‑software experiment implementation, data collection‑and‑statistics‑analysis, research‑result sorting‑and‑paper‑publishing work, and finally complete original master graduation thesis and pass formal thesis defence. Applicants must provide authenticated bachelor‑degree certificate and complete official academic transcript issued by recognised higher‑education institutions. ring, mechanical‑engineering, material‑science, biology or other related STEM disciplines will receive priority consideration. Non‑native‑English‑speaking applicants need to submit valid English‑proficiency certificates: IELTS overall 6.5 (no sub‑score below 6.0), or TOEFL iBT 90 and above. Applicants who have completed a full‑time degree programme fully delivered in English may apply for language‑score exemption with official supporting documents, subject to university administrative review. Applicants must be under 35 years‑old at the time of application, physically and mentally healthy to satisfy Chinese student‑visa medical‑examination criteria. After fulfilling all curriculum requirements and successfully passing master‑thesis defence, graduates will obtain official master‑degree diploma issued by Southern University of Science and Technology.
