About this program
What this degree covers and what you can expect from the university.
This full‑time English‑taught Master of Applied Economics programme is offered by the School of Economics, Yunnan University. Centering on regional economic development, border economy, resource‑based economic research and developing‑country economic issues, this programme pays special attention to economic practice research for southwest China and Southeast‑Asia neighbouring regions. Core teaching modules include microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, regional economic analysis, border trade research and development economics. This programme integrates theoretical lectures, economic case analysis, policy research discussion and off‑campus economic‑practice investigation activities. Each international student receives one‑on‑one academic guidance from a supervisor throughout the whole study cycle. Students are required to fulfil all course‑credit requirements, complete economic‑investigation practice tasks, finish independent economic‑research papers and pass final thesis defence to acquire the master degree. Qualified overseas students may apply for various national‑level, provincial‑level and university‑level scholarships to relieve study‑related financial pressure.
