The Utrecht Excellence Scholarship (UES) is a highly competitive program offered to outstanding international students from outside the EU/EEA. It is designed to attract highly talented students to pursue Master’s programs at Utrecht University. Each year, around 20–25 scholarships are awarded. The scholarship provides either full tuition coverage or tuition plus a living stipend.

The eligibility criteria is as follows:

  • Non-EU/EEA nationality.
  • Top 10% of graduating class (proven by academic transcripts and class ranking).
  • Applied for a Master’s program at Utrecht University starting in September.
  • Must meet program-specific entry requirements.
  • Must not be eligible for Dutch government study grants.
