This full‑time English‑taught Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Chinese (TESOC) is offered by College of International Studies, Shenzhen University. This programme focuses on Chinese‑language international‑education research, covering core directions including second‑language‑acquisition theory, Chinese‑teaching‑methodology, intercultural‑communication, language‑curriculum‑and‑material‑development, Chinese‑language‑testing‑and‑evaluation research. It is designed to cultivate international‑oriented high‑level Chinese‑language‑education talents, who master systematic linguistics and second‑language‑teaching theoretical knowledge, possess Chinese‑teaching practical‑competence, curriculum‑design capacity, cross‑cultural‑exchange awareness and independent‑academic‑research‑thinking. Curriculum consists of advanced postgraduate core courses, language‑education‑specialised electives, intercultural‑research‑seminars, teaching‑practice training, supervisor‑guided research‑work and master‑degree‑thesis‑research. Core courses include Second‑Language Acquisition Theory, Chinese Teaching Methodology, Intercultural‑Communication Research, Language Curriculum and Teaching‑Material Development, Chinese‑Language Testing and Evaluation, Humanities‑Research‑Methodology, Academic‑Writing and Thesis‑Standardisation, plus serial seminars tracking global Chinese‑international‑education frontier topics. During the 2‑3‑year full‑time study cycle, students need to complete all compulsory‑and‑elective‑credit‑requirements, participate in college‑level academic‑forums, finish supervised Chinese‑teaching‑practice activities, and receive academic‑guidance from assigned faculty supervisor. Under supervisor guidance, students will conduct extensive academic‑literature‑review, research‑topic‑formulation, teaching‑practice‑data‑collection‑and‑analysis, research‑result‑sorting‑and‑paper‑writing, and complete original master‑graduation‑thesis and pass formal thesis‑defence. Applicants shall submit authenticated bachelor‑degree‑certificate and complete official academic‑transcript issued by recognised higher‑education‑institutions. Applicants with linguistics, foreign‑language‑education or other related humanities‑backgrounds obtain priority consideration during admission assessment. Non‑native‑English‑speaking applicants need valid English‑proficiency‑certification: IELTS overall band 6.5 or TOEFL iBT ≥90. Applicants whose prior full‑degree is fully English‑taught can apply for language‑score‑exemption by submitting official supporting‑documents for university‑review. Applicant age generally shall not exceed 35‑years‑old and physical‑mental‑health status must meet Chinese‑student‑visa‑medical‑check‑criteria. After fulfilling all curriculum‑requirements and successfully passing master‑thesis‑defence, graduates obtain official master‑degree‑diploma awarded by Shenzhen University. Graduates can engage in Chinese‑language‑teaching work for overseas‑educational‑institutions, international‑cultural‑exchange‑organisations, Confucius‑institute‑related‑institutions, language‑education‑research‑departments, or proceed to pursue further doctoral‑level‑humanities‑study worldwide.
