International Relations BA

Short descriptionThe goal of this programme is to offer students the opportunity to develop specialized knowledge in international politics, security studies, EU politics, ethnic conflict, global justice and human rights. It enables them to understand and analyse complex political and social dynamics that go beyond state borders and cultural boundaries. The structure of the programme offers students the opportunity to choose from a wide range of elective seminars, following introductory courses in the first academic year.This programme is recommended to applicants who are interested in social sciences and politics, and are particularly keen to understand how the modern world works, also how globalization has affected our societies. The programme offers basic introduction to the social sciences, from Sociology to Law and Economics with a special focus on International Relations, and thereby prepares students to continue their studies for the MA programmes in the field of social sciences in general, also in international relations and politics in particular.This programme enables students to pursue a career in fields where a good knowledge and comprehension of the globalized world is required, starting from journalism, public services and international organizations to private companies. Strength of programIn addition to giving students grounding in history and theory, the BA programme in International Relations teaches future graduates about international politics, the European Union and equips them with practical knowledge that can be used in almost all countries around the world.The knowledge acquired during the undergraduate courses lays the foundation for the MA in International Relations and other postgraduate qualifications in social sciences. Applicants will ideally be interested in social sciences and in the links between different countries, peoples and institutions and be keen to use their language skills.We encourage our students to work independently and to solve tasks in teams. We rely on modern methodologies – including simulations – and we believe that adaptability and self-reflexivity are crucial in today’s fast changing world. Our aim is to give our students skills that they can be readily used wherever they seek employment after graduation.

OverviewWhile professional athletes often excel in their respective sports, they may struggle when transitioning into diverse roles across organizations, companies, sports clubs, and federations. Similarly, individuals from various backgrounds, such as economics or law may lack the specialized diplomatic skills needed in roles connected to sports and diplomacy.This program is designed to train professionals who would like to work in international sport federations or national federations with international activities. With a diverse teaching staff that brings a broad range of nationalities and expertise, the program offers a unique, international experience. This diversity extends to both current students and alumni, enhancing the global scope of the learning environment.With your expertise, you’ll be able to comfortably settle into various sport organizations in leadership roles and successfully represent these organizations in any kind of international events. Juris Master (International Commercial Law Programme)

This full‑time English‑taught Juris Master (International Commercial Law Programme) targets international students who intend to build professional capabilities in cross‑border commercial legal practice. Core course modules include international commercial contract law, international trade law, cross‑border investment and financing law, international commercial arbitration, comparative commercial law and Chinese commercial law practice. The programme combines theoretical lectures, simulated arbitration workshops and real‑world commercial case studies. Every enrolled international student is assigned a professional academic supervisor to offer guidance for course selection, research topic confirmation and dissertation writing. Students are required to finish stipulated course credits, conduct law‑oriented original research and pass thesis defence for degree conferral. Eligible foreign applicants can submit applications for Chinese Government Scholarship and university‑level scholarship schemes.

Juris Master (International Law Track)

This full‑time English‑taught Juris Master (International Law Track) programme is delivered by the International Law School, which is well‑known for international law research and teaching resources in China. The curriculum focuses on public international law, international human rights law, international dispute settlement, international investment law and transnational legal practice. The teaching faculty consists of domestic legal scholars and guest foreign law professors. Students will receive systematic training on international legal theories and practical case analysis. To obtain the master degree, participants must complete all compulsory and elective course credits, finish independent legal research work and successfully pass master thesis defence. Qualified overseas applicants are eligible to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship and SWUPL Presidential Scholarship. 

Kindergarten Education BA

Short descriptionThe Pre-School Educator BA Program trains future professionals who will possess the theoretically-based knowledge, skills and competences in pedagogy needed to fulfill the expectations of pre-school education. The program’s aim is to prepare experts who have acquired a firm foundation in theory and practical skills and are capable of and dedicated to educating three- to six-year-old children. The program is conducted in person, at the Faculty of Pre-School and Primary Education in Budapest, Hungary.The program will expand and renew the participants’ knowledge, shape their usage of methodology when interpreting integrated pre-school activities, conducting complex and differentiated planning and organizing and managing education-related tasks.  By consciously applying psychologically, pedagogically and methodologically appropriate planning of an age-specific activity structure, the course will provide the students with optimal conditions for the development of children.Strength of programOne main feature of the program is to provide top-level theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of early childhood education. Our faculty is the flagship institute for pre-school teachers’ training in Hungary.The feedback regarding our alumni’s ability to fill positions in the job market is very positive; in the past years, our students have been able to choose from a wide selection of jobs. The Research Lab conducts research and organizes several events for students and practicing teachers, such as Workshops for Kindergarten Educators or a Play Lab for pedagogical practitioners and parents.The Early Childhood Lab publishes a peer-reviewed journal called ‘Gyermeknevelés’ (http://gyermekneveles.tok.elte.hu) Each Volume has three issues per a year. The wide range of topics found in this periodical encompass areas spanning Early Inclusion to the Historic Aspects of Education or Multimodal Perspectives of Childhood Studies.
