This full‑time English‑taught Master of Metallurgical Engineering programme is delivered by the Faculty of Metallurgical and Energy Engineering at Kunming University of Science and Technology. As a featured strength discipline of the university, this programme takes non‑ferrous metal metallurgy as its core research orientation, combining the rich mineral resource background of Yunnan province. Main research directions cover smelting of non‑ferrous metals, green metallurgical technology, resource recycling of metallurgical solid waste, new energy materials preparation and metallurgical environmental protection technology. The teaching team consists of experienced professors with long‑term research experience in metallurgy industry, together with enterprise senior engineers as guest instructors. The curriculum integrates theoretical lectures, laboratory simulation experiments, metallurgical pilot‑platform practical training and enterprise field‑visit activities. Every international postgraduate student will be assigned a dedicated academic supervisor to guide course selection, research topic formulation, experimental scheme design and dissertation writing. Students need to complete all compulsory and elective course credits, carry out complete metallurgy‑related scientific research work, finish master thesis and pass thesis defence to obtain the official master degree. Eligible overseas applicants can apply for Chinese Government Scholarship, Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship and university‑level scholarships to offset study‑related costs.
