The programme aims to cultivate interdisciplinary international water‑resource management talents who master systematic management‑science 
theoretical knowledge, possess social investigation, data modelling analysis and policy‑research capabilities, independent practical‑research competence and cross‑cultural business communication skills. The curriculum system consists of advanced postgraduate core management‑engineering courses, discipline‑specific elective modules, frontier water‑management academic seminars, water‑basin field‑survey practice, supervisor‑led research project participation and master thesis research work. Representative core courses include Advanced Water Resources Economics, Water Resource System Modelling and Optimisation, Water Policy and Institutional Research, Operation Management of Water Conservancy Projects, Digital Basin Construction, Management Research Methodology, Academic Writing and Thesis Standardisation, alongside serial thematic seminars about global water‑governance hot‑spot issues. During the three‑year full‑time study period, students need to complete all compulsory and elective credit 
requirements, participate in university‑level water‑management academic conferences and workshops, carry out field investigation in typical river‑basin regions and collect first‑hand research data, join faculty‑managed water‑resource‑management research projects and accumulate abundant social‑survey practical experience. Every admitted student receives one‑on‑one academic supervision from faculty supervisors. Under supervisor guidance, students finish comprehensive literature retrieval and review, research scheme design, field‑side social survey, multi‑dimensional data sorting and model econometric analysis, research result summarisation and academic paper drafting, and finally complete original master graduation thesis and pass thesis defence. Applicants must submit authenticated bachelor degree certificate and complete official academic transcript issued by accredited higher‑education institutions. Applicants with management science, engineering management and water‑management‑relevant backgrounds will be prioritised in 
admission assessment. Non‑native English‑speaking applicants shall provide valid English proficiency certificates such as IELTS or TOEFL. Applicants who have completed full‑degree programmes fully delivered in English can apply for language score exemption by submitting official supporting documents for university internal review. Applicant age generally should not exceed 35 years old, and physical‑mental health condition must satisfy medical examination criteria for Chinese student visa application. After completing all curriculum assessment requirements and successfully passing thesis defence, graduates are awarded official master degree diploma issued by Hohai University. Graduates can engage in water‑resource policy research, water‑project operation management work within water‑administration research institutions, international water‑related organisations, public management departments and water‑industry enterprises, or pursue further PhD‑level academic study worldwide
