Master of International Trade

This full‑time English‑taught Master of International Trade is delivered by the School of Economics of Ningbo University. Benefiting from Ningbo’s advantageous geographical position as an important international port city in China, this programme combines regional foreign trade development practice with international economic theories. Core research directions include international trade theory and policy, port economy and logistics, cross‑border e‑commerce, global industrial chain and supply‑chain research, 
international investment and multinational enterprise operation. This programme is committed to cultivating interdisciplinary international economic and trade talents, who master systematic international economics and trade theoretical knowledge, possess international trade data analysis capability, cross‑border business practical thinking, independent academic research ability and cross‑cultural business communication competence. The curriculum framework includes advanced postgraduate core economics courses, professional elective modules, international economic frontier seminars, business case analysis workshops, supervisor‑guided research projects and master‑degree‑thesis research. Core courses contain Advanced International Trade Theory, Port and Logistics Economics, Cross‑border E‑commerce Research, Global Industrial Chain Analysis, International Investment Theory, Social‑science Research Methodology, Academic Paper Writing and Thesis Standardisation, alongside thematic seminars 
tracking global trade hot‑spot issues. Within the 2.5‑year full‑time study cycle, students need to finish compulsory and elective credit requirements, attend school‑organised international economy and trade forums, complete trade case research tasks, and receive one‑on‑one academic guidance from assigned faculty supervisor. Under supervisor’s instruction, students will accomplish extensive literature review, research topic demonstration, trade‑related data collection and quantitative‑qualitative analysis, research result sorting and scholarly article drafting, and complete qualified original master graduation thesis. Applicants are required to submit authenticated bachelor‑degree certificate and complete official academic transcript issued by accredited higher‑education institutions. Applicants with economics, international trade, business administration and other related backgrounds gain priority in admission assessment. Non‑native‑English‑speaking applicants shall provide valid English‑proficiency 
documents: IELTS overall band 6.0 or TOEFL iBT ≥80. Applicants holding prior full‑degree education fully delivered in English may apply for language‑score‑exemption with official supporting‑documents subject to university review. Applicant age generally shall not exceed 35‑years‑old and physical‑mental‑health condition must satisfy medical‑examination‑standards for Chinese‑student‑visa‑application. After satisfying all curriculum‑assessment‑criteria and passing master‑thesis‑defence, graduates obtain official master‑degree‑diploma awarded by Ningbo University. Graduates can work in international trade enterprises, port logistics institutions, cross‑border e‑commerce companies, economic research institutes, or pursue further doctoral‑level‑study globally.
