This full‑time English‑taught Master of Ecology programme is operated by the School of Ecology and Environmental Sciences at Yunnan University. Benefiting from Yunnan province’s extremely rich biological diversity and typical plateau‑mountain ecological background, this programme focuses on biodiversity conservation, plateau ecosystem structure and function, ecological restoration, resource sustainable utilization and global ecological‑environment change research. The teaching team consists of university full‑time professors, researchers and overseas guest scholars. The programme integrates classroom theoretical lectures, laboratory experimental training, long‑term field observation and field investigation in Yunnan’s diverse ecological sites. Students will receive systematic academic training covering ecological theory, field investigation technology, biological data analysis, ecological modelling and conservation‑oriented research methodologies. During the study period, students are required to finish course learning, participate in academic seminars and complete independent research projects. To graduate and obtain the master degree, candidates shall finish all compulsory and elective course credits, complete thesis research work and pass the formal master thesis defence.
