Master of Computer Science and Technology

This full‑time English‑taught Master of Computer Science and Technology programme is delivered by the School of Computer Science and Technology at Nanjing University, whose computer discipline owns strong research strength in fundamental theory and cutting‑edge technology. This research‑oriented postgraduate programme faces global digital technology development demands. Major research directions include artificial intelligence and machine learning, software theory and system, big data and database technology, computer network and information security, computer vision and multimedia computing. The programme aims to cultivate high‑level international computer science talents who master systematic computer theoretical knowledge, possess software development, algorithm design and system 
research capabilities, independent scientific‑research innovation awareness and good cross‑cultural academic communication competence. The curriculum system consists of advanced postgraduate core courses, discipline‑specific elective modules, frontier academic seminars, laboratory practice training, supervisor‑led research project participation and master thesis research work. Representative core courses cover Advanced Artificial Intelligence, Modern Software Theory, Big Data System Technology, Network and Information Security, Computer Vision, Computer Science Research Methodology, Academic Writing and Thesis Standardisation, together with serial thematic seminars focusing on global computer science hot‑spot research topics. During the 3‑year full‑time study period, students need to complete all compulsory and elective credit requirements, participate in university‑level computer science academic conferences and technical workshops, finish laboratory rotation practice, take part in faculty‑m
anaged computer research projects and accumulate sufficient project‑development practical experience. Each admitted student receives one‑on‑one academic supervision from faculty supervisors. Under supervisor guidance, students will complete comprehensive literature retrieval and review, research scheme design, algorithm development and system simulation test, experimental data sorting, statistics and analysis, research result summarisation and academic paper drafting, and finally complete original master graduation thesis and pass thesis defence. Applicants must submit authenticated bachelor degree certificate and complete official academic transcript issued by accredited higher education institutions. Applicants with computer science, software engineering, electronic information and other related STEM backgrounds will be given priority in admission assessment. Non‑native English‑speaking applicants shall provide valid English proficiency certificates such as IELTS or TOEFL. Applicants who have 
completed full‑degree programmes fully delivered in English can apply for language score exemption by submitting official supporting documents for university internal review. Applicant age generally should not exceed 35 years old, and physical‑mental health condition must satisfy medical examination criteria for Chinese student visa application. After completing all curriculum assessment requirements and successfully passing thesis defence, graduates will be awarded official master degree diploma issued by Nanjing University. Graduates can engage in technical research and software development work in internet enterprises, information‑technology research institutes, high‑tech manufacturing companies, or pursue further PhD‑level academic study worldwide.
