Master of Computer Science and Technology

This full‑time English‑taught Master of Computer Science and Technology programme is delivered by the College of Information Engineering at Zhejiang University of Technology, a key provincial university located in Hangzhou with solid engineering research strength. This research‑oriented postgraduate programme closely 
connects with digital economy and information industry development demands in Yangtze River Delta region. Major research directions include artificial intelligence and machine learning, big data processing and data mining, computer network and information security, embedded system and intelligent computing, computer vision and pattern recognition. The programme aims to cultivate high‑level international computer science talents who master systematic theoretical knowledge of computer science and technology, possess proficient programming and system development capabilities, independent scientific research innovation awareness and good cross‑cultural academic communication competence. The curriculum system consists of advanced postgraduate core courses, discipline‑specific elective modules, frontier academic seminars, laboratory practice training, supervisor‑led research project participation and master thesis research work. Representative core courses cover Advanced Artificial Intelligence, Big Data 
Technology and Application, Computer Network Security, Embedded System Design, Computer Vision, Scientific Research Methodology for Engineering, Academic Writing and Thesis Standardisation, together with serial thematic seminars focusing on global computer science hot‑spot research topics. During the 3‑year full‑time study period, students need to complete all compulsory and elective credit requirements, participate in university‑level information science academic conferences and technical workshops, finish laboratory rotation practice, take part in faculty‑managed computer research projects and accumulate sufficient project‑development practical experience. Each admitted student receives one‑on‑one academic supervision from faculty supervisors. Under supervisor guidance, students will complete comprehensive literature retrieval and review, research scheme design, system simulation and code development, experimental data sorting, statistics and analysis, research result summarisation and academic 
paper drafting, and finally complete original master graduation thesis and pass thesis defence. Applicants must submit authenticated bachelor degree certificate and complete official academic transcript issued by accredited higher education institutions. Applicants with computer science, software engineering, electronic information and other related STEM backgrounds will be given priority in admission assessment. Non‑native English‑speaking applicants shall provide valid English proficiency certificates such as IELTS or TOEFL. Applicants who have completed full‑degree programmes fully delivered in English can apply for language score exemption by submitting official supporting documents for university internal review. Applicant age generally should not exceed 35 years old, and physical‑mental health condition must satisfy medical examination criteria for Chinese student visa application. After completing all curriculum assessment requirements and successfully passing thesis defence, graduates will be awarded official 
master degree diploma issued by Zhejiang University of Technology. Graduates can engage in technical research and software development work in internet enterprises, information‑technology research institutes, high‑tech manufacturing companies, or pursue further PhD‑level academic study worldwide.
