Master of Civil Engineering is a full‑time English‑taught international master programme run by the School of Civil Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology. Main research directions include structural engineering, disaster prevention and mitigation, smart infrastructure, geotechnical engineering and municipal engineering. The teaching system combines theoretical lectures, structural simulation analysis, case study of major projects, laboratory research and academic exchange activities. Every enrolled international student receives one‑to‑one academic supervision. Supervisors guide students on course module selection, research topic demonstration, numerical simulation and thesis composition. Students shall obtain compulsory and elective course credits, take part in civil‑engineering‑oriented scientific research tasks, complete independent master dissertation and pass final defence for graduation and degree conferral. With formal official approval, maximum study period can be extended to 4 years. Graduates are competent for engineering design, scientific research, construction technology research and infrastructure management positions in design institutes, construction enterprises and scientific research institutions. Eligible foreign applicants can submit scholarship applications for Chinese Government Scholarship and university‑provided grants.
