Master of Tropical Agriculture
This full‑time English‑taught Master of Tropical Agriculture programme is delivered by the School of Tropical Agriculture and Forestry at Hainan University. Taking full advantage of Hainan’s unique tropical geographical environment and abundant tropical crop germplasm resources, this programme focuses on tropical crop genetic breeding, tropical fruit and vegetable cultivation technology, tropical plant protection, tropical agricultural resource utilisation and tropical ecological agriculture development. The school possesses multiple large‑scale tropical crop experimental bases, greenhouses and supporting agricultural laboratories. The curriculum integrates theoretical classroom lectures, field planting practice, greenhouse experimental operation, germplasm resource investigation and agricultural academic seminars. Each international postgraduate student is assigned a professional academic supervisor, who provides continuous guidance covering course selection, research direction confirmation, experimental scheme formulation and thesis writing. Students are required to complete all compulsory and elective course credits, finish tropical‑agriculture‑related scientific‑research tasks, complete master thesis research and pass formal thesis defence to obtain the master degree certificate. Eligible overseas applicants can apply for Chinese Government Scholarship, Hainan Provincial Government Scholarship and university‑level scholarships to support their postgraduate study.
