About this program
What this degree covers and what you can expect from the university.
Aeronautical Engineering is a full‑time English‑taught academic master programme for international students operated by School of Aeronautics, Northwestern Polytechnical University. Built upon the university’s time‑honoured superior discipline background in aviation, aerospace and marine engineering, this programme focuses on aircraft aerodynamic design, aircraft structure strength analysis, flight vehicle system design, advanced aviation material application and aviation‑related intelligent manufacturing technologies. The complete training system includes systematic theoretical course learning, aviation‑oriented laboratory simulation practice, participation in aerospace research group projects and postgraduate dissertation research work. Every enrolled international student will be assigned a dedicated faculty supervisor, who provides comprehensive academic guidance covering course module selection, research topic confirmation, project practice implementation and thesis composition. Students must complete all required course credits, take part in discipline‑related research tasks, accomplish independent original master dissertation and successfully pass the final thesis defence to obtain the official master degree certificate issued by Northwestern Polytechnical University. If formal extension application gets administrative approval, the maximum valid study period can be extended to 4 years. Graduates are well‑qualified for technical research, product development, simulation analysis and technical management posts in aviation manufacturing enterprises, aerospace research institutes and high‑end equipment research institutions. Qualified overseas applicants are eligible to submit applications for Chinese Government Scholarship and university‑sponsored international student scholarships to obtain financial support for their study.
